Captain Roderick Red Rory Walker, Sherwood Foresters pictured with his mother Mrs Doris Walker after he had received the military cross. He led a bold and successful raid against Oman rebels in January. Captain Walker set up a time of 57min 47 sec between Marble Arch and the Arc de Triomphe in August in the Daily Mail Air Race
